Mountain Standard Studio Serving Boards
Each serving board is custom hand-made to order and handcrafted in the beautiful Flathead Valley of Montana.
Size: Approximately 17" x 9" x .75” (please allow variance due to board uniqueness).
Choose your resin color and handle preference in the drop-down, or request a custom color. If desired, we can discuss your board design and mock up a color before we commit to a final pour.
These boards have a 4 week lead time for non-in-stock items, to allow for complete resin and finish curing.
The boards you see on the listing are not the actual board you will receive, these are examples of boards already created to help you get a sense of design.
High-quality resin is used to produce our one-of-a-kind boards, and are food-grade safe. To create a classic satin finish and bring out the beauty of the natural wood grain, they are finished with both a wax finish and maintenance oil that do not contain VOCs and are safe for use around food and food preparation areas.
Not suitable for use as a cutting board.
Caring for these boards is easy, and instructions will be enclosed in your shipment. Boards are not for extended outdoor use, as resin will eventually yellow when exposed to the sun.
Black Walnut:
Black walnut is a beautiful wood, with its deep, rich color and an attractive grain pattern. With its smooth finish and natural strength, black walnut is an elegant and classic choice for any home.
The origins of black walnut wood can be traced back to the Middle East and the Mediterranean. Its popularity in the US began in the late 1800s, when settlers discovered the native deciduous North American black walnut, a cousin of the Persian walnut, which was widely cultivated in Europe. Found primarily in the Midwest and along the East Coast–along with a Northern California transplant made of grafting of English Walnut/Claro combination, it has been a popular choice for furniture, cabinetry, flooring, and other woodworking projects.
Black walnut wood is also known for its sustainability. Unlike other species of hardwood, black walnut trees grow quickly and are less vulnerable to disease or pests. They are also planted as part of reforestation efforts, making them a smart environmental choice.
